• Our aim

This project has the objective to reduce the time needed to grind the daily supply of grain and millet and to use this time for other activities.

  • The problems and measures taken within the scope of this project

Traditionally the grinding of millet and grain for daily meal is done by women and girls. They spent many hours grinding grain and millet in a mortar until they have turned to flour. This is very strainious and extremely time consuming job. Therefore a mill would be a lasting measure that would drastically reduce the preparation time of the meals and there would be more time left for child care and other activities.

  •  The results

The construction of the mill was paid by sponors from Pettenbach (Austria). The once in a life - time investment was 3,000 €.
